This is another great Miata Based Kit car designed by MEV and sold in the USA by Exomotive. The same company that markets the Exocet.The DBR-1 Miata Kit Car is a throw back to the 1950s.
It is a replica of the iconic and arguably the most famous Aston Martin. I cant recall ever seeing another Miata Based DBR1 Kit car being produced.
The original DBR1 was created in 1956, when racing rules no longer called for a street legal car. Aston created the track monster with one thing in mind; victory. The car was dominant through the remainder of the 50s, hitting peak performance when it took the top spot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959. Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori claimed first place, while the DBR1 driven by Maurice Trintignant and Paul Frére took second. The car and drivers were so dominant in fact, that the next closest competitor was a distant 25 laps behind.
An original DBR1 can fetch MILLIONS but the MEV DBR1 can be had for much, MUCH less. The DBR1 Replicar chassis uses the complete drivetrain from your 1990-2005 Mazda Miata. Exomotive has to different packages available.
